Cemetery. The Deed of Appropriation would include the

following terms :-

1. Land to remain vested in the Crown but for so long

as so vested and subject to the conditions contained

in the Deed of Appropriation and such rules and regu-

lations regarding management as shall from time to time be approved in writing by the Governor, to be appropriated to the use of a cemetery for Chinese who shall have been permanently resident in the Colony.

Usual powers of resumption for public purposes on twelve

months' notice without compensation for land or build-

ings but Government to defray expenses of removing

graves existing on land resumed.

The

Care and management to be entrusted to trustees, of

which the Secretary for Chinese Affairs, the

Director of Public Works and the Head of the

Sanitary Department to be permanent members.

remainder to be elected in the first place from amongst themselves by Chinese permanently resident in the Colony who shall have subscribed to the

cost of laying out and making the cemetery.

Trustees to be responsible for cost of maintenance of cemetery, and for payment of wages of sexton or

other servants.

Differences and dissensions among the trustees to

be referred to the final decision of the Governor.

vi. Power of dis-appropriation by the Crown in the event

of failure to observe conditions, etc., or if, in

the opinion of the Governor, it is not possible to carry out the provisions of the trust.
